The Brief
Overview
Basalt’s apothecary-style skincare deserved an online shop as quiet and considered as the products themselves. We rebuilt the storefront around large-format photography and a calmer, slower browsing rhythm.
The Challenge
The previous store crammed too many products into dense grids, buried filters two clicks deep, and pushed shoppers through a multi-page checkout that shed customers at every step along the way.
Solution
We redesigned product pages around full-bleed photography, moved filtering to a single visible bar, and rebuilt checkout as one page, cutting the path from product to purchase down to a few seconds.

Product First
Every listing leads with a large, evenly lit photograph of the bottle itself, letting the amber glass and simple label carry the shelf appeal instead of busy marketing copy.

Faster Checkout
Collapsing four checkout steps into one screen removed the biggest source of drop-off, and cart abandonment fell noticeably within the first month after launch.
